Matched pair of Heinrich Selb porcelain vases combining glossy white bodies with broad, textured bands of satin gold. The tall, tapering Model 1796 and low, rounded Model 1941 create a balanced contrast of height and volume, united by the same restrained decoration.

  • Dimensions:
    • Tall vase, model 1796: H 27.5 cm, Dia 9.5 cm
    • Low vase, model 1941: H 12 cm, Dia 16.5 cm
  • Material: Glazed porcelain
  • Brand: Heinrich Selb Bavaria
  • Models: 1796 and 1941
  • Color: White and gold
  • Finish: Glossy white glaze with textured satin-gold decoration
  • Condition: Very good vintage condition; no chips, cracks, or repairs. Light age-related patina to the gold finish
  • Era: Mid-century, circa 1960s
  • Origin: Germany
  • Remarks: Set of two vases

The duo works particularly well on open shelving, a bookcase, sideboard, or low coffee table. Its white-and-gold palette suits restrained contemporary rooms, warm modernist interiors, and classical spaces where the gold can echo brass lighting, gilt frames, wood, or marble without appearing overly formal.

Heinrich & Co. (often marked H&Co Selb Bavaria) was founded in 1896 in Selb, Bavaria by porcelain painter Franz Heinrich (1876–1928), evolving from decorated whiteware into full porcelain production from the early 1900s and becoming a major Selb maker of high-quality tableware. After the company was integrated into Villeroy & Boch in 1976, the Selb site became known for bone china production from 1980. Today the standalone Heinrich line is largely considered discontinued, with collectors especially valuing its refined dinner services and decorative giftware/vases bearing the classic Selb marks.
