Vladislav Urban (1937–2022) was a Czech glass designer associated with the most inventive period of postwar pressed glass. After studying in Turnov and at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, he worked at the Technical and Artistic Centre for Pressed Glass in Teplice and later continued as a freelance designer; his pieces are known for structured surfaces, rhythmic form, and a clear interest in how glass shapes light and space.

Sklo Union was the state-run Czechoslovak glass group formed in 1965, bringing together major pressed-glass factories across Bohemia and Moravia, including Rosice. The group became known for turning pressed glass into a serious design field through collaborations with leading designers and for producing bold, modern forms with clear optical and geometric character.
