For collectors of early Rosenthal as well as romantic table settings: beautiful as a serving piece for berries or petits fours, as a centerpiece on a dresser layered with linen and silver, or displayed upright on a plate stand or in a glazed cabinet where the strawberry motif can add a quiet burst of colour and nostalgia.

Monbijou is a classic Rosenthal relief-mould line first introduced in 1896, defined by softly scalloped edges and delicate, vine-like ornamentation with a Neo-Rococo / Art Nouveau feel. The form appeared in multiple decors and an all-white version - listed as produced 1896–2014 in consumer pattern records - while Monbijou “Weiss” continues to be offered in Rosenthal’s Hotel & Restaurant range (form 11420).

Rosenthal, founded in 1879 in Selb, Bavaria, is one of Germany’s most important porcelain manufacturers, recognised for combining industrial production with high design standards. With its Studio-Linie programme from the 1960s onwards, Rosenthal invited international artists and designers to create avant-garde forms and décors, making pieces like this set both functional objects and design collectibles.
