Finished in ivory-grey satin porcelain with pink and gold floral painting, the piece reflects the refined Bavarian tradition of hand-decorated decorative porcelain associated with Heinrich’s Selb production and the Chiemsee art department.

Heinrich & Co. (often marked H&Co Selb Bavaria) was founded in 1896 in Selb, Bavaria by porcelain painter Franz Heinrich (1876–1928), evolving from decorated whiteware into full porcelain production from the early 1900s and becoming a major Selb maker of high-quality tableware. After the company was integrated into Villeroy & Boch in 1976, the Selb site became known for bone china production from 1980; today the standalone Heinrich line is largely considered discontinued, with collectors especially valuing its refined dinner services and decorative giftware/vases bearing the classic Selb marks.
