Ideal on a long sideboard or low cabinet: place the tallest vase at the back, the broad one to the side and the medium piece slightly forward to build a calm “fossil landscape” in white. 

Manfred Frey (1940) is German porcelain modeller and designer, trained at Alboth & Kaiser and the Johann-Friedrich-Böttger-Institut in Selb. Since the 1960s he has shaped the Kaiser/AK Kaiser collection as chief designer, pioneering white bisque porcelain with Op-Art inspired reliefs and winning several international awards for his vases and vessel forms.

AK Kaiser (known as Alboth & Kaiser until 1970) is a German porcelain manufacturer founded in 1872 by August Alboth in Coburg. Now based in Bad Staffelstein, the company is celebrated for its fine white bodies, detailed bisque relief vases and figurines, as well as richly decorated tableware. Over the decades Kaiser porcelain has become a household presence in Germany and a favourite among collectors looking for refined yet accessible “fine china”.
