Porcelain lidded box duo by AL-KA Kunst Kronach (later AK Kaiser), finished in a deep emerald-green glaze with silver overlay decoration. Set in silver-tone metal mounts, the two boxes pair softly rounded forms with polished finials and delicate foliage motifs, bringing together jewel-like color, reflective detail, and a distinctly mid-century decorative sensibility.

  • Dimensions:
    • Box 1: H 14 cm, Dia. 18 cm
    • Box 2: H 17 cm, Dia. 17.5 cm
  • Material: Porcelain with silver-tone metal mounts and finials
  • Brand: AL-KA Kunst (later AK Kaiser)
  • Color: Emerald green and silver
  • Condition: Good vintage condition; porcelain bodies well preserved without cracks or structural damage; metal mounts and feet with age-related patina and wear, including areas of silver plating loss on the underside and rims
  • Era: Mid-century
  • Origin: Germany
  • Remarks: Set of two, the Box 1 does not have a mark, attributed by shape and design

Use them as a pair on a console, dressing table, or coffee table, and keep the styling restrained. A stack of books, a small tray, or one brass accent nearby is enough - the green glaze and silver detail already do the decorative work.

AK Kaiser (known as Alboth & Kaiser until 1970) is a German porcelain manufacturer founded in 1872 by August Alboth in Coburg. Now based in Bad Staffelstein, the company is celebrated for its fine white bodies, detailed bisque relief vases and figurines, as well as richly decorated tableware. Over the decades Kaiser porcelain has become a household presence in Germany and a favourite among collectors looking for refined yet accessible “fine china”.
