VEB Keramik Haldensleben was one of the best-known ceramic manufacturers in East Germany, rooted in Haldensleben’s long pottery tradition that goes back to the early 19th century. After 1948, several local ceramic works were combined into VEB Keramische Werke Haldensleben, which became an important GDR producer of decorative ceramics and household wares. Today, Haldensleben pottery is valued for its bold forms, relief surfaces, and expressive reactive glazes, making it highly collectable within East German design and mid-century European ceramics.
