Art Deco Revival Porcelain Bowl – Schaubach Kunst, Germany

Large square porcelain centerpiece bowl by Schaubach Kunst, raised on four scroll feet and shaped with stepped corners and fluted sides. Its orange-red interior is decorated with white blossoms, black floral details and hand-applied gold accents, combining Art Deco geometry with the ornate character of mid-century German porcelain.

Schaubach Kunst was founded in 1926, when Heinz Schaubach took over the Wallendorf factory after the bankruptcy of Fraureuth AG. Under his direction, the manufactory developed into a notable center for artistically ambitious porcelain, especially known for figural works and refined decorative production. In 1953, the factory was expropriated and continued as VEB Schaubachkunst Wallendorfer Porzellan.
