These work best where light can hit them from the side and sharpen the edges. Place them on a console or pedestal and keep the flowers minimal, ideally one stem in just one vase.

Achim Haigis (b. 1969) is a German designer from Rottweil whose work moves with clarity, precision, and restraint. With an early background in toolmaking and later studies in product design at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, Haigis developed a design language centered on geometry, material honesty, and the subtle play of light across surface and form. His Surface collection for Rosenthal translates this approach into porcelain, creating objects that feel both exact and quietly expressive.

Rosenthal, founded in 1879 in Selb, Bavaria, is one of Germany’s most important porcelain manufacturers, recognised for combining industrial production with high design standards. With its Studio-Linie programme from the 1960s onwards, Rosenthal invited international artists and designers to create avant-garde forms and décors, making pieces like this set both functional objects and design collectibles.
