A vivid postmodern porcelain box from Rosenthal’s Künstler-Sammeldosen series, designed by Solveig Samhaber. Produced as a limited collector’s edition, this piece brings together bold geometry, saturated color, and a playful sculptural lid finial that gives the form its unmistakable character. The composition in cobalt blue, lilac, red, turquoise, and gold captures the spirited visual language of 1980s design while remaining distinctly Rosenthal in its precision and finish.

This piece has exactly the kind of wit that lifts a shelf or table arrangement instantly. The sharp geometry and bright palette make it ideal for interiors that mix clean lines with more expressive accents. It works especially well with chrome, lacquer, colored glass, or black furniture, where the porcelain can bring in one concentrated note of energy.

Solveig Samhaber was a designer active in Rosenthal Studio-Line’s postmodern phase, associated with vividly geometric porcelain designs from the 1980s. Her known Rosenthal works include entries in the Künstlertasse series and the City Cup series, including the Vienna design, which places her within the playful, graphic language that defined Rosenthal’s later artist collaborations. Because published biographical information on her is limited, she is best described through her documented Rosenthal designs rather than a full career biography.

Rosenthal, founded in 1879 in Selb, Bavaria, is one of Germany’s most important porcelain manufacturers, recognised for combining industrial production with high design standards. With its Studio-Linie programme from the 1960s onwards, Rosenthal invited international artists and designers to create avant-garde forms and décors, making pieces like this set both functional objects and design collectibles.
