For collectors of artist-signed Rosenthal and surreal, postmodern design; perfect on a coffee table or sideboard as a chic bonbonnière, on a tea tray as a sugar bowl, or on a vanity to hold jewellery and small treasures, adding a small hit of colour and gold to otherwise calm interiors.

Paul Wunderlich (1927–2010) was a German Surrealist painter, sculptor, and master printmaker who later translated his signature mythic, erotic symbolism into collectible porcelain for Rosenthal. In Rosenthal’s Studio-Line/Kunstabteilung he is credited with sculptural services such as “Mythos” (noted for its wing-like relief) and the limited-edition “Leda” tea service (mid-1980s, signed/limited), both now sought after by design collectors.

Rosenthal, founded in 1879 in Selb, Bavaria, is one of Germany’s most important porcelain manufacturers, recognised for combining industrial production with high design standards. With its Studio-Linie programme from the 1960s onwards, Rosenthal invited international artists and designers to create avant-garde forms and décors, making pieces like this set both functional objects and design collectibles.
