Large West German art-glass vase by Peill & Putzler, with an asymmetrical freeform silhouette and thick walls. Its acid-etched satin finish softens the transparent glass, giving the surface a frosted, ice-like appearance.

  • Dimensions: H 29.5 cm, W 24 cm, D 12 cm
  • Material: Satin-finished art glass
  • Brand: Peill & Putzler
  • Color: Frosted clear glass
  • Condition: Very good vintage condition with minimal signs of age. No chips or cracks.
  • Era: 1970s–1980s
  • Origin: Germany
  • Remarks: Etched Peill & Putzler factory mark to the underside.

The broad asymmetrical form works particularly well on a sideboard, low console or deep open shelf where natural or directional light can pass through the glass.

Peill & Putzler was a leading German glassmaker formed in Düren in 1947 through the merger of Peill & Sohn, founded in 1903, and the Putzler glassworks. Known for modern lighting and art glass, the company worked with designers including Wilhelm Wagenfeld, Wilhelm Braun-Feldweg and Helmut Demary.
