A sculptural trio of bisque porcelain vases from AK Kaiser, designed by Manfred Frey in the 1970s. The three pieces feature the ammonite-inspired Fossil Relief decor, with surfaces that echo geological layers and organic spiral forms. Rendered in unglazed porcelain, the relief reads through light and shadow rather than colour, giving the group a quiet but very distinctive presence.

AK Kaiser (known as Alboth & Kaiser until 1970) is a German porcelain manufacturer founded in 1872 by August Alboth in Coburg. Now based in Bad Staffelstein, the company is celebrated for its fine white bodies, detailed bisque relief vases and figurines, as well as richly decorated tableware. Over the decades Kaiser porcelain has become a household presence in Germany and a favourite among collectors looking for refined yet accessible “fine china”.
