Glossy red porcelain vase from Cédric Ragot’s “Fast” series for Rosenthal Studio-Line, transforming a classical vessel profile through fluid, directional projections that evoke rapid movement. The vivid glaze and asymmetric silhouette reflect Ragot’s experimental approach to contemporary industrial design.

  • Dimensions: H 30.5 cm, W 27.5 cm, D 19 cm
  • Material: Glazed porcelain
  • Brand: Rosenthal
  • Designer: Cédric Ragot
  • Series: Fast
  • Color: Glossy red with white interior
  • Condition: Very good pre-owned condition with minimal signs of handling; no chips, cracks or restorations observed
  • Era: 2010
  • Origin: Germany
  • Remarks: Limited-edition red version; marked underneath “Rosenthal studio-line Germany / Cédric Ragot / Limited Edition 2010”

The intense red glaze makes the vase particularly effective on a console, wide sideboard or pedestal against white, grey or dark surfaces. Best displayed unfilled to preserve the clarity of its changing profile, or with one or two simple branches.

Introduced in 2007, the “Fast” series reinterprets a classical Ming-style vase as though its form had been pulled sideways by speed; the design received the German Federal Design Award in 2009.

Cédric Ragot (1973–2015) was a French designer educated at ENSCI–Les Ateliers in Paris, later founding his own studio. He worked across furniture, objects and porcelain, designing for leading European manufacturers. His approach combined function with an unexpected conceptual twist, often creating forms that feel fluid, transformed or caught in motion - as seen in his Rosenthal “Squall” and "Fast" vases.

Rosenthal, founded in 1879 in Selb, Bavaria, is one of Germany’s most important porcelain manufacturers, recognised for combining industrial production with high design standards. With its Studio-Linie programme from the 1960s onwards, Rosenthal invited international artists and designers to create avant-garde forms and décors, making pieces like this set both functional objects and design collectibles.
