This vase comes alive when light can move through it. Placed near a window or on an open shelf, the green tones become far more vivid, while the relief catches highlights and shadow across the thick glass. It works especially well where daylight can pass through the body and bring out the depth, color layering, and slightly raw texture of the piece.
Sklo Union was the state-run Czechoslovak glass group formed in 1965, bringing together major pressed-glass factories across Bohemia and Moravia, including Rosice. The group became known for turning pressed glass into a serious design field through collaborations with leading designers and for producing bold, modern forms with clear optical and geometric character.
